The faculty of law is honoured and proud to announce that Professor Neil Kaplan CBE QC SBS has joined the faculty as a Visiting Professor of Law. Professor Kaplan's appointment will enhance the faculty's strength and excellent reputation in international commercial arbitration and investor-state arbitration.
The general public is invited to Professor Kaplan’s first lecture at UCLy: "International Arbitration from the Perspective of the Arbitrator"
The lecture will be held on 16 March 2020 from 10:15 until 12:00 at UCLy, Saint-Paul Campus, room C225.
Neil Kaplan CBE QC SBS is considered one of the leading international arbitrators in the world. He has been involved in several hundred arbitrations as arbitrator. Called to the Bar of England in 1965, Professor Kaplan has practiced as a barrister and served as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Hong Kong in charge of the Arbitration List. He was Chair of HKIAC for 13 years and President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in 1999/2000. Since 2017 he has been the President of the Court of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arbitration and Mediation Centre.
